Perched on the peaceful heights of a village 40 minutes from Mulhouse, this 92 m2 house sits on 8.5 ares of land. Built in 2015, it guarantees its occupants very high energy performance and exceptional living comfort close to the main Vosges peaks. From the frame of the house, through the flooring and many of the ceilings, right up to the terrace, wood brings warmth and authenticity to this unique property.
The feeling of well-being is palpable from the moment you walk through the front door. The main driver behind the project has been the preservation of the environment and natural resources. Its wood wool and cellulose wadding insulation gives this property performance that is almost worthy of a passive house.
The light-filled living room opens onto a pleasant south-facing terrace, while the kitchen extends onto a second terrace and a room that can accommodate a bathroom. A solid wood staircase leads upstairs to three bedrooms and a shower room. Outside, there are several parking spaces, a garden shed and, above all, direct access to various hiking trails.
The light crackle from the wood-burning stove in the living room is more than enough to keep the house warm. For added thermal comfort, a self-contained solar air collector was installed in 2022. Domestic hot water is provided by photovoltaic panels, keeping electricity bills to a minimum, while the flat green roof provides natural shade for the occupants.
Electrosensitive people will be delighted here. Wave emissions have been reduced to a strict minimum: there is no Wi-Fi (although the house can accommodate fibre optic cable), the layout of the building and the layout of the premises have been designed by a geobiology consultant, and anti-radiation ducts attenuate over 99% of electrical and electromagnetic waves.
This house is a veritable haven of peace set into the mountainside. All it needs now is for its new owners to enjoy the splendour of the Vosges mountains to their heart's content.
