A large triplex exhibition space with concert hall and annex building
Espaces Atypiques offers you an Art Centre with an international reputation, in one of the most beautiful historic villages in the Drome provencale: Le Poët Laval, which surrounds the small town of Dieulefit.
You'd be forgiven for thinking that this building, built in the style of the fortified village created by the Hospitallers of St John of Jerusalem, looks like it's made of stone, but is in fact of modern construction (1995).
Two separate buildings make up the complex. It would be easy to convert the second, currently used for storage or backstage during outdoor performances, into a duplex apartment. A kitchen and shower room could then be added.
Several access points to the main building will enable you to welcome your visitors differently, depending on whether they come to attend a concert or a conference - in the acoustically optimal room of almost 120 m2 or on the stone tiers of the antique-inspired outdoor theatre - or to admire the works of art that you will be exhibiting around the majestic staircase created by a craftsman in the double-height gallery.
The museum space, now occupied by painter RocheColombe and ceramist Mireille MOSER, whose work enhances our photographs, offers around 230 m2 on three levels, plus technical rooms and toilets, making a total of almost 300 m2.
The auditorium (with a seating capacity of around 100, almost identical to that of the outdoor theatre) has a stage with a historical decor (ceramics and 2 Byzantine columns from the late 11th century), a sound system. Like the Italian-style theatres of the late 18th century, a discreet box gives a privileged couple a commanding view of the stage.
Under the roof, a 60 m2 flat offers an exceptional view of the surrounding countryside. The main room has almost the same view as the village keep, with triple exposure! This flat currently offers just 1 bedroom, as the wall between the two original bedrooms has been removed. Two bedrooms are therefore possible.
Beyond its stone walls, this Art Centre in Le Poët Laval offers much more than just an exhibition of works of art; it's a real journey through time and space, where every nook and cranny tells a story. Whether you're an art enthusiast, a music lover or simply looking for a cosy nest with a panoramic view, this property promises an experience as rewarding as it is entertaining. As Vincent Van Gogh once said, 'I dream my painting and then I paint my dream'.
Here, dreams and Art are closely intertwined.
