The ensemble, built in 1953, is located around one and a half hours north-east of Berlin in the Oderbruch - one of the most beautiful and naturally interesting river landscapes in Europe, which was awarded the European Heritage Label in 2022 as the "Garden of Eden of the Mark Brandenburg Streusandbüchse". As a landmark of the village, the Groß Neuendorf harbor facilities are literally an outstanding part of the village's 650-year history. The former infrastructure hub on the banks of the beautiful blue Oder consists of the loading tower (now a vacation apartment, tower café and permanent exhibition), engine house (now a hotel, restaurant and haberdashery store), two conveyor bridges (now a viewing platform with a 25-metre-long bench in the half-shade of an elm tree arching over the bridge and two giant swings underneath), two warehouses (now an art gallery and agricultural museum), five historic railroad wagons (now vacation apartments, a theater wagon and a bar wagon for the Oderterrasse), a skate park and a 150-meter-long quay wall as well as a natural slip ramp and a separate floating jetty, which is used by river cruise ships in addition to local passenger ships. The former loading tower and the historic railroad wagons are for sale. There is no economic connection with the Hotel Maschinenhaus, only a good neighborly relationship. The former conveyor bridge between the loading tower and the Maschinenhaus as well as the quay wall are owned and maintained by the municipality of Letschin. The tower site covers an area of 359 m². This was deliberately chosen to be small in order to exclude responsibility for the quay wall. There is therefore an open-ended usage agreement with the municipality for the installation of the historic railroad wagons and use of the Oder Terrace. The usable area of the tower and the wagons amounts to a total of 331.99 m². Of this, 198.25 m² is usable space in the tower (69.86 m² commercial space on the first and second floors and 128.39 m² living space from the third floor to the top floor) and 133.74 m² usable space in the wagons (of which 45.06 m² is commercial space in the theater and bar wagons and 88.68 m² living space in the three sleeping cars). The Turmcafé is open every day of the week without a day off in summer and at weekends in winter. In addition to regular operations, it is also popular for weddings, birthdays and similar celebrations. It has 34 seats spread over the first and second of the tower's seven floors. There is seating for around 50 people on the Oder Terrace, which could be generously extended.
