Designed by Swiss architect Le Corbusier and completed in 1958, the high-rise residential building with open spaces on the "Olympic Hill" on the edge of the Grunewald forest is a listed building and attracts artists, architects, art historians and designers. You are welcomed through the large sliding glass door into the spacious foyer of the building, which is decorated with artistic illustrations and an integrated kiosk.Three existing elevators take you to the 1st of 10 streets, which feels like the 3rd floor. On the upper floor of this maisonette, you enter the open-plan living and dining area via the hallway with space for your everyday wardrobe, which was fitted with a real wood fitted kitchen and matching electrical appliances in 2020. The large window front with robust, weather-resistant and easy-care steel frames and 2.50 m high ceilings provide a pleasant amount of light. You can also enjoy the view of the greenery and evening sun from the west-facing loggia.Further refurbishment measures carried out in 2019-2020 include plastered walls, new electrics and new sanitary facilities + tiling, real wood parquet flooring and partly half-renewed insulating glazing. An elegant staircase with footfall sound insulation leads you to the basement (feels like the 2nd floor). In the large hallway, which could ideally serve as a storage area, you enter the bathroom with bathtub and the separate WC. There is also a washing machine connection. The formerly spacious bedroom has been functionally partitioned off due to its size, creating a further room that can be used as a wardrobe or home office. The sleeping area still has sufficient space for a large bed and a built-in wardrobe. However, the plasterboard wall can be removed again with little effort. Another loggia is accessible from the bedroom. The west façade is currently being extensively renovated, which will continue for several months. The renovation measures have already been financed. In any case, the house has sufficient maintenance reserves for future measures not yet planned. The hot and cold water supply, the electrical risers and the sustainable combined heat and power plant for heating, hot water and electricity generation were already renewed in 2016.The apartment is ready for immediate occupancy. There are parking spaces directly in front of the building, which are only available to residents.
