Lucas Fox presents this unique property for its historical value, a farmhouse from the post-medieval period dating from the 16th century. It is an emblazoned house, a term that in architecture refers to houses whose facades bear the arms, shields or coats of arms of their current owners or of those who founded them, leaving a record of their former dynastic belonging. The spaciousness of the spaces, its spectacular views of nature and its strategic location in Oiartzun, a few minutes from San Sebastián, the airport or France, stand out. This luxury building was completely rehabilitated, but its original construction elements were recovered in order to preserve its authenticity and create a large family-friendly home for a second residence. It has three floors, equipped with three kitchens, as well as five night areas . On the ground floor, there is access to a wide corridor that goes from side to side and leads to a utility room (possible bedroom), a large kitchen equipped with appliances, a service dining room , a pantry, another laundry room, a spacious dining room and a living room. On the other hand, there is access to the first night area with a bedroom, a closet room (possible bedroom), a toilet accessible for people with reduced mobility, as well as an additional toilet with two toilets. It also has an study and, finally, a large living room with several rooms with a fireplace, which has direct access to an esplanade with impressive views of nature. The ground floor is connected to a recently renovated guest apartment, which consists of a living-dining room with an open kitchen equipped with high-end appliances and another night area with two bedrooms and a full bathroom . The first floor has a perimeter terrace with relaxing views of nature. The staircase reaches a hall that leads to a third night area made up of a hall-living lobby, two bedrooms and a full bathroom . The fourth night area has a lobby, a spacious bathroom with shower and bathtub and a large bedroom. At the back, we find another cozy kitchen with a dining room separated by a wood and glass enclosure from another spacious living-dining room with a fireplace and access to the terrace. The first floor in turn leads to a last night area where we find a living room, a utility room, a boiler room and another guest bedroom with a private bathroom. The penthouse is a large open-plan plan space, which reaches a great height and is also made up of various rooms: an area for board games, sports, table tennis, table football and a TV room. Finally, La Finca has a large plot of more than two hectares where horses usually walk, delimited by trees that provide a lot of privacy and where we can find a pool with a waterfall from the river. In addition, four horse stables and a garage for three cars have been built later. The property has a wooden structure with oak beams that reach 16 meters in length, in a very good state of conservation, with tongue and groove. The floors preserve the original character of the farmhouse, the solid wood doors were expressly brought from various towns in Castilla and we can also see the shield carved in stone on the façade. In general, we can see that the facilities have been impeccably maintained. The guest apartment has a heat pump and the three kitchens are equipped with appliances. The furniture and decoration include various antiques and various works of art, not included in the price. Historically, the farmhouse housed the family's first residence and it is interesting to learn about its history, from its arrival in Oiartzun and its subsequent transfer to Donibane, with its manoeuvres, exploits and adventures to consolidate itself in the local elite, until its very disappearance. The historical moment is very specific, in the middle of the 16th century. The area served as a reference port for the war armies and for the adventure of Newfoundland, until at the end of the 19th century, the port was the protagonist of an industrial takeoff. In this transit, the then owners serve as a bond with the first era, they know the splendor of American commerce and the service to the crown through arms and they end up disappearing from the place, just when the bay begins to transform into a modern port. In this period of constant change, our bay serves as a base for ships that cross the European Atlantic, as well as for others that go to the Caribbean, Mexico, Central America, the Philippines and even China. In addition, the farmhouse, as a curiosity, has hosted personalities such as counts or the American actress Rita Hayworth. Get in touch for more information.
