The kitchen/living/dining areas have an open concept where you can comfortably entertain and pay tribute to the home's authentic fixtures that double as works of art. For example, the backsplash and stairs consists of handmade Honduran tiles made by the Lenca peoples (some of the first people known to inhabit Honduras before colonial times), a large dining table for eight complimented by a lighting feature made from an original yolk created by a Chorotegan artisan, vaulted ceilings made of Costa Rican hardwood, and an oversized island with a 6-person breakfast bar adorned with clay lamps that give homage to Navajo Native American art. You will see similar tributes to peoples and cultures of Central America, including the Mayan culture, throughout this home. All five bedrooms have en-suite baths.
The principal bedroom is extremely private, located on its own floor, and has a large private balcony overlooking the town. Moreover, the composition of the bedrooms in this home makes it very versatile. First, three of the bedrooms have a King size bed and one of the rooms in the main house feature full size bunk beds with trundles and pull out sofas, so that this home comfortably sleeps 16. Second, there are two bedrooms located downstairs , both are lock-off one-bedroom apartments. Both apartments can be fully integrated with the main home, or can be locked off and used as a separate apartment, complete with its own kitchenettes and can be used either alone or together they connect in the middle with a second laundry room but have separate private entrances, perfect for extended family or for use as a long or short-term rental.
Even more, these apartments are ADA compliant for those with limited mobility, ensuring that everyone can enjoy one of the most popular beach towns in all of Costa Rica.
Las Catalinas is a high-end beach town that is reminiscent of a Mediterranean village and surrounded by 1000 areas of dry tropical forests. These forests are home to abundant wildlife and hiking and biking trails, all with excellent ocean view points along the way. Homeowners also have access to the Las Catalina's Beach Club, which features two pools, a lap pool, a bar and restaurant, a boutique clothing and gift shop, and an air-conditioned gym.
Las Catalinas regularly features events, including triathlons, movie nights, and festivals. Las Catalinas is only a 10-minute drive to the new Flamingo Marina, which is now accepting boats into its harbor. It is a 15-minute drive to the private schools of La Paz and the Costa Rica International Academy ('CRIA'), and is a 45-minute drive from the Daniel Oduber International Airport in Liberia, Costa Rica.
