Cividale del Friuli is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is a treasure trove of art treasures: walking through its historic atmosphere is special, full of suggestions. At the foot of the hills of eastern Friuli, 17 km from Udine, on the road between the Friuli plain to the Isonzo valley. Inside the walls of the historic Cividale is the Villa di Lenardo. One of the finest residences in the eastern Friuli, was developed by the designer on the model of the castle of Miramare in Trieste. Dating back to the early nineteenth century has been preserved absolutely true to its roots, both in the plant that the body of the building. The villa is on three floors plus a basement for a total of ca. 1000 sq. The residence is surrounded by a beautiful park with old trees, which provide privacy to the complex giving a further touch of elegance and exclusivity. The outer surfaces of the outer walls of the first floor are covered in stone, while the upper floors, the tower and the roof are clad in burnt bricks handmade with the exposed face, the unmistakable hue of old brick. Ground floor windows have veils and sill stone, original wrought iron railings; the windows on the upper floors are closed by shutters in essence massive painted enamel. All the fixtures are original, finely crafted and decorated, restored and equipped with double glazed for better insulation. The roof membrane, slightly protruding, let see a beautiful setting made up of beams richly decorated, typical of the palaces of the time. The entire complex has recently undergone a complete renovation that has affected the structure and all the finishing touches. The long speech was characterized by extreme care to preserve all the features and original materials of this wonderful place, to preserve that authenticity that guarantees its charm and value. In February of 2012 it was used as a movie set for the filming of "Sleeping Beauty" by Marco Bellocchio.
