Las Veraneras was designed and furnished by Jorge Letelier from the award winning, Manhatten based design firm of ¨Letelier & Rock Design.' This internationally renowned firm traveled throughout Central and South America to acquire rare artifacts to perfectly compliment the home's 18th Century Spanish Colonial architecture.
Las Veraneras greets its visitors with a grand facade, beautiful fountains, and Italian marble sculptures. As you enter the home, you are immediately with an impressive outdoor space, complete with custom tiles commissioned and imported from Portugal; a beautifully designed courtyard with coralina tile; a covered outdoor kitchen with a Wolf Grill, two under-counter Sub Zero refrigerators, a Sub Zero ice maker, and an under-counter Bosh dishwasher; and a dining area with seating for 16.
These magnificent outdoor spaces all center around the saltwater pool, elevated in a chic glass enclosure--complete with mood lighting--that overlooks the beach, just steps away.
Inside, the custom kitchen is a chef's dream, and seamlessly marries the traditional with modern conveniences. For example, among the rich coffered ceilings, hanging copper cookware, and floors made with 18th Century stones reclaimed from a Spanish Colonial Convent, you will find a 60-inch Wolf gas stove, a 66-inch Wolf Pro Island Hood, dual ovens, a Bosh dishwasher, and a built-in Sub-Zero Refrigerator.
The dining area features a 19th Century French Provincial Server, antique Bolivian Mirrors, Spanish Colonial Gilded Candelabras, and 18th Century Bronze Wall Sconces. The entertainment room parallel to the kitchen features a blend of colors and textures from modern art to antiquities. The sectional sofa sits below a framed 15th Century Nazra Poncho textile. The lacquered custom wood cabinet houses a 64-inch Ultra-thin TV on hydraulics. 17th century Persian oil vessels adorn each side of the sofa. And there is a separate sitting area with a 17th century English secretary desk.
As you embark down the enchanting staircase to the study, you are transported to a magical place. With its with travertine floors and wooden inlays, you can sit at the Cuban mahogany writing desk, placed just in front of an 17th century Flemish tapestry, as you gaze upon the 18th Century Chinese Urns.
